Winning at the wellhead: Enverus reveals 2025 top US drillers and customer rankings

Performance, precision and pace continue to define leaders as drilling data unearths top companies setting the standard in footage, speed, lateral length and rig efficiency

byEnverus

AUSTIN, Texas (Sept. 3, 2025) — Enverus, the most trusted energy-dedicated SaaS company that leverages generative AI across its solutions, has released its updated list of top drillers and customer rankings in the U.S., as well as detailed drilling rig analytics.

Included in the release is a compilation of exclusive tables showing the most active drillers by footage, ranking both the contractors and their customers. Powered by Enverus Core® data, these leaderboards also include average drilling speeds, measured depth (MD), laterals and rig counts, average fluid and proppant loads per foot, and comparison to their rankings the previous quarter. The list was featured in Oilfield Pulse, a bi-monthly report that covers the oilfield services sector, including contracts, the deal market, finance and new technology offerings.

“Without Enverus in the picture, we would face significant challenges,” notes Bryan Haubert, Regional Account Manager at ZL Chemicals and Enverus customer. “We would go back to relying on word-of-mouth information, which is often unreliable, incomplete and time consuming to gather. The lack of timely access to accurate market intelligence would impede our ability to make informed decisions and result in slower growth.”

Adam Bell, Business Development Manager at Liberty Energy added, “The relationship between Liberty Energy and Enverus is crucial as the market evolves in a rapidly changing environment. Staying ahead of trends provides a competitive advantage, allowing us to understand market cycles, operator behavior, DUC completion trends and benchmark various frac company activities.”

“The Top Drillers Ranking is more than a leaderboard—it’s a reflection of the evolving strategies, technologies and efficiencies shaping the future of drilling,” said Mark Chapman, principal analyst – OFS at Enverus Intelligence Research. “By spotlighting the industry’s top performers, Enverus empowers operators with the intelligence they need to benchmark success, drive innovation, and stay competitive in a rapidly changing energy landscape.”

Enverus is also making its Drilldown Report, which provides a weekly summary of North American rig activity, broken down by target hydrocarbon, well orientation, operator, contractor, region and play, available to the media. Other activity metrics presented in this report are permits, detected pads, frac crews and DUCs, with regional breakdowns. Regional leaderboards track the top 10 operators by rig count and permits.
