One Team, One Journey: From Vltava Relay to Brno Office Launch

byBryn Davies

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of milestones for our team in Brno. We officially opened our new office, welcomed new teammates and even laced up our running shoes for the Vltava Relay — a 360km team race through the Czech countryside. While these events may seem worlds apart, they share the common threads of Enverus values: courageous innovation, partners for life, one team.

At Enverus, CI doesn’t just stand for Courageous Innovation — it also means Continuous Improvement. And just like the Vltava Relay, our journey in Brno has been a series of strides, handoffs and uphill climbs, all moving us forward together.

🏁 Assembling the Relay Team

Every great relay starts with the right team. In the early days of Brno, we focused on building a strong foundation — hiring smart, driven, collaborative team members who would set the tone for our culture. Just like planning who runs which leg of the race, we carefully matched skills to roles and built trust from the start.

🌅 First Leg Jitters

The race begins in the dark, with the first runner waiting at 5 a.m., full of nervous energy. That feeling mirrored our first day in the Brno office — setting up desks, onboarding new hires and launching into the unknown. It was exciting, a little chaotic, and full of potential.

🔁 The Handoff

In a relay, the baton pass is everything. It requires timing, trust and communication — especially when it happens in the middle of the night. In Brno, we’ve experienced the same dynamic as we integrate with teams across the U.S. and Canada. Whether it’s handing off code, ideas or responsibilities, we’re learning how to work as one seamless, global team.

⛰️ The Uphill Climb

Every race has its brutal hills. For the office, that has been navigating a tight hiring market, scaling infrastructure and localizing global processes. Growth isn’t always easy — but it’s in these moments that we lean into CI. Step by step, we’re improving how we work, collaborate and build.

🌄 The Scenic Stretch

There are also always moments that remind you why you’re doing it. Running along the river at sunrise. Launching our first product feature from Brno. Hitting hiring milestones. Hearing praise from global leadership. These are the views that make the climb worth it.

🌙 Running Through the Night

Some of the most important work happens when no one’s watching. Like the 3 a.m. legs of the relay, our developers, engineers and other team members have been heads-down solving complex problems, laying architectural foundations and quietly pushing us forward. It’s not always flashy, but it’s essential — and it’s a powerful form of continuous improvement.

🎉 The Final Push to the Finish

The last leg of the race is all about heart. You’re tired, but the team is cheering, and you push through together. That’s what our grand opening felt like — a celebration of everything we’ve built so far. From team offsites to our first major release fully owned from Brno, we’re finishing strong — and already looking ahead to the next leg.

🔄 Continuous Improvement as a Way of Life

At Enverus, continuous improvement is more than a technical practice — it’s a mindset. It’s about growing as a company and as individuals. While office square footage and headcount are easy to measure, the personal and professional growth of each teammate is just as important — even if it’s less visible.

Like the Vltava Relay, continuous improvement isn’t easy. But it’s worth it. And we’re running this race together — as #OneTeam.
