Sharing a Vision: Customer Collaboration in Materials Management

As Technical Solutions Director, Don Hoefer is responsible for supporting the sales channel as well as the technical interface between customers and the product development organization. Don has more than 30 years working in the Oil and Gas industry. After roughnecking on completion rigs during summers of college Don started his career working in the Permian as a Frac and Cementing Engineer for Dowell Schlumberger in 1990 before joining a small engineering software company called Munro Engineering in 1993. Don has held various positions since 1993 including technical support, managing Landmark Graphics North America support center before managing the Drilling technical sales team. In 2004 he joined Digital Oilfield which was the company that developed OpenInvoice. Don managed the technical support and implementation teams and then transitioned to an Account Manager when ADP acquired Digital Oilfield. Don currently holds the position of Solutions Director for the Enverus Business Automation division and is a Petroleum Engineering graduate from New Mexico Tech.

Shad Shepherd joined Whiting Oil and Gas in 2018 to implement Verian’s procurement and inventory management functionality and is currently the Application Support Manager. In this role, he manages five support analysts/engineers and PMs the implementation of OpenOrder, and the new MT functionality from Enverus. Shad has spent 25 years working in various roles involving Supply Management Software. He began his career supporting the distribution modules of EnterpriseOne for several software companies, including JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, and Oracle. He then joined a business consulting group where he spearheaded the training for large software projects at WL Gore, Covidien Medical, Pharmavite, and several others. He entered the oil and gas industry in 2010, joining Encana’s supply chain group to implement and upgrade EnterpriseOne and manage their E1 and OI systems.
