Accurately determining how far apart wellbores are from one another to better understand optimal well spacing is a complicated and tedious task. Whether it is done by using sampling, mid-point distances, or by simply using a measuring tool to draw a line from one well to another on a map, the process is tricky and takes time to do on a large scale.
Enverus Drillinginfo’s new Well Spacing tool introduces a novel, more robust way to understand the distances between wellbores. Additionally, the tool generates a multitude of attributes that are fundamental to any well spacing analysis and combine with Enverus Drillinginfo’s best-in-class production, completions, and fracturing datasets to help identify optimal well spacing. This discussion will highlight the methodology and attributes that go into the platform and illustrate the use of this dataset to analyze spacing trends in the Delaware Basin and Eagle Ford plays.

In this talk we study a densely drilled area in Mountrail County, North Dakota, in order to accomplish three main tasks: 1) calculate a date-dependent depletion metric for each horizontal wellbore, 2) use well spacing and depletion metrics to assign wells to parent and child groups, and 3) use multivariate analysis to quantify the independent impacts of fluid and proppant on each group of wells and predict the impact of various proppant-fluid combinations on wells yet to be drilled.

Oilfield water management is an increasingly critical aspect of oil and gas operations in the United States. The issue has become particularly acute in the Permian. External factors, like drought, municipal non-potable sources, produced water volumes, seismicity, SWD capacity, larger frac jobs, and capital expense, to name a few, have drastically increased the emphasis on efficient water management.
This talk will review an analysis of the dynamic of produced water, frac water and disposed/injected water for operations. Additionally, it will overlay several known trends to identify opportunities for efficiency gains as well as potential “cost crisis” for a better understanding of the economic impact of water management. Forecast the futures of these segments to quantify risk associated with a growing Permian and potential opportunities that may come with it.
