In the second quarter of 2010, Williams will be taking over as operator for 2 of Rex’s 3 Marcellus project areas, according to Rex’s latest conference call. The 2 areas they will take over, the Westmoreland project and the Central PA project, are both dry gas areas. The area that Rex will continue to operate, the Butler Project area, is a liquids rich area that they currently have 1 well completed, are awaiting frac for 2 drilled wells and are drilling 2 wells. They plan to drill 10 more horizontal wells in the area in 2010 with 3,000 to 4,000 ft laterals.
Currently, Rex has 68,700 net acres and have drilled and completed 9 horizontal Marcellus wells, 7 of which in 2009 with an average EUR of 3.2 Bcfe per well. They currently have 3 rigs running in the play and expect to drill roughly 19 gross horizontal wells in 2010.
