We have been very busy expanding our land coverage over 2010. For Basic members, this means more counties are covered for leasing activity. For Plus members, this means more counties released with Mineral Tract outlines mapped by our crack GIS team from the legal descriptions in the lease documents, which, by the way, is the first time a land ownership database has been built from the reality of legal description versus the less accurate method of surface tract proxies, and Drilling Unit outlines, which covers the mineral tract or tracts that comprise an original unit. These two are known as LandTrac Leases and LandTrac Units. More importantly, once built, we keep them updated along with new leasing activity!
The following Texas counties were released in the 4th quarter of 2010:
LandTrac Leases – Rusk, Live Oak, and Maverick
LandTrac Units – Frio, Lavaca, Lee, and Goliad
In Texas, Wilson and San Augustine counties will be added to our LandTrac Lease coverage in January 2011 and Harrison, Karnes, Bee, and Lavaca counties are scheduled for the 2nd quarter of 2011.
Leasing information for the following Pennsylvania counties were released in the 4th quarter of 2010: Washington, Bradford, and Susquehanna.
Look for Pennsylvania counties Sullivan, Clearfield, Tioga, and Potter to be released early January 2011, followed closely by Fayette and Greene. Counties that are scheduled for release by the 2nd quarter of 2011 include: McKean, Westmoreland, Somerset, Butler, Clinton, and Lackawanna.
Stay posted to Drillinginfo’s Wireline throughout 2011 for additional county releases.
