Austin, TX – Allen Gilmer, Co-founder and CEO of Drilling Info, Inc., was selected as the 2012 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the Technology/Technology Services category at the annual awards gala on June 7, 2012. Drilling Info, Inc. is an Austin-based company that provides decision support to the oil and gas industry through an innovative web platform.
The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year program has become the most prestigious business program in the country and celebrates America’s most innovative business leaders in more than 140 cities and 50 countries around the world. Gilmer joins past winners including Michael Dell of Dell Inc., Herb Kelleher of Southwest Airlines, and Sergey Brin of Google. Gilmer will represent Austin/San Antonio at the National Entrepreneur of the Year event in Palm Springs in November.
The Entrepreneur of the Year Award criteria requires that the entrepreneur has demonstrated excellence in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their business and communities. Gilmer has led his company to help change the way the upstream oil and gas industry works, saving customers millions by reducing the risk of investment decisions.
