Continental Resources released their 3Q operational update earlier this month. The Company has been heavily producing the Anadarko Woodford shale, and there are 8 rigs in operation with a total of 38 total rigs drilling as of today. Specific focus has been put into wells in the Northwest Cana and Southeast Cana because of their high production rates.
In the Northwest Cana, three wells in particular have been producing at high rates. Brown 1-2H is producing at 4.5 MMcfpd and 75 Bopd, Doris 1-25H at 4.5 MMcfpd and 72 Bopd, and Rother 1-4H at 2.0 MMcfpd and 105 Bopd. In the Southeast Cana, Dana 1-29H is producing at 2.5 MMcfpd and 88 Bopd. The Dana 1-29H well gives a strong validation of the Southeast Cana’s potential of strong liquids content.
Below are maps I created using DNA from DrillingInfo that show Continental’s wells in the area histogrammed by their gas and oil productions over the last month.
We can see from these maps that higher oil and gas production rates are taking place in the Anadarko Woodford shale.
